Csh Programming Considered Harmful
Tom Christansen discusses C shell's flaws as a programming tool.

Detail:

C shell (Csh), written at the University of California, Berkeley, utilizes a language reminiscent of the C programming language, the language in which UNIX itself was written. C shell is commonly used in the scientific and academic world.

C shell is considered superior to the earlier Bourne shell for interactive work, but inferior for non-interactive work such as writing shell scripts. A newer version of the C Shell, total C shell (tcsh), corrects some earlier bugs and adds extra features, such as line editing.
